Networking Session – Inequity Thematic Program
This event is now over. Thank you to all who attended.
The availability of new, heterogeneous data has transformed traditional disciplines, encouraging researchers to address pressing questions in innovative, data-driven ways. Drawing on the disciplinary strength inequity studies at U of T and recognizing that data-based technologies can potentially increase inequities, the DSI Thematic Program on Inequity encourages the generation of evidence (data and inference) and tools that enhance our understanding of inequity while supporting equitable social change.
We invite DSI members to participate in a virtual workshop to learn about each other’s research, discuss data science challenges and opportunities related to inequity research, and what the DSI can do to support inequity researchers. The program will be structured based on info requested upon registration and will include time to network.
- Date: April 7, 2022
- Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Recognizing that data-based technologies can potentially increase inequities, the Inequity Thematic Program encourages the generation of evidence (data and inference) and tools that enhance our understanding of inequity while supporting equitable social change. It is through cross-disciplinary interactions, that we can elaborate on challenges and opportunities in tackling inequity in research.
The virtual networking session is open to DSI members.
