SUDS Research Day 2022 – Information for Scholars

SUDS Research Day is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the exciting research that your fellow scholars are conducting. This year’s Research Day is set for August 11, 2022. We will be inviting student supervisors and faculty from across our DSI community. You can join in for Research Day either in-person or remotely.

Scholars will present their work. In addition, scholar abstracts and presentations will be placed on the SUDS website after Research Day. Please note the information below

  • Abstracts must be reviewed by the supervisor prior to submission.
  • Maximum 350-word limit.
  • The abstract should include the purpose of the research; data science methods; any results and conclusions (or results expected by the time of presentation).
  • Abstracts must be submitted online – by this link.

  • You will present for up to 3 minutes, and there will be a short question period.
  • Your presentation should highlight the topic of your research, data science methods, and any results or conclusions.
  • There will be faculty members from a broad range of disciplines present, so your presentation should be understandable for a non-specialist audience.
  • If you cannot attend in person or virtually for the actual Research Day, you are asked to send a pre-recorded presentation with a voiceover of your slides.
