Talent Showcase

Attend our annual Talent Showcase — a poster-style applied research showcase featuring DSI-affiliated trainees across disciplines. Unlike a traditional resume screening or interview, this immersive format lets your team engage directly with candidates, view their data science project work, ask questions, and assess both technical and communication skills in a live setting. Atendees include PhDs, postdocs, and undergraduate students from U of T, affiliated research institutes and the Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship program.

As a DSI Industry Member, you’ll receive:

  • A dedicated booth at the Showcase to meet and evaluate emerging talent—observe how they approach applied data challenges, communicate insights, and work across disciplines.
  • A 10-minute spotlight to introduce your company to the full Showcase audience.

Value: Early access to job-ready talent; personal connection beyond a CV; visibility across research networks; direct exposure to your brand; broad, cross-disciplinary view of applied data science talent in the University of Toronto ecosystem.

Industry Speaker Series

Engage in the Data Sciences Institute Industry Speaker series. Speak to DSI’s academic and student community and bring awareness to the types of data science challenges your company faces and how you’re solving them in practice. These sessions attract a wide interdisciplinary audience and foster two-way learning between industry and academia.

Value: Showcase thought leadership in your organization; recruit from a targeted audience; initiate dialogue with potential research collaborators and students.
